Verve Productions Filming my Father: In Life and Death becomes the first Channel 5 programme ever to be recognised at the AIB Awards

At the prestigious Association of International Broadcasting awards ceremony held on the 4 November 2015, Verve Production’s Filming My Father: In Life and Death was Highly Commended in the Domestic Current Affairs Category.

This was the first time in the history of the event that a Channel 5 film has won recognition at the AIB Awards. This year’s competition which celebrates the very best in factual programming across the globe was dominated by entries from the BBC and Channel 4.

Verve’s film was competing in a category the judges described as an outstanding set of documentaries and the international jury said that Filming My Father: In Life and Death was:
“A thoroughly poignant and personal insight that drew the viewer into the drama of a family dealing with the slow decline of the father through motor neurone disease. It felt extraordinarily personal and intimate”.
