Mary Portas and Jamie Oliver attend the launch of the Pat Lewellyn Bursary - 22 May 2018

On Tuesday, Liz, as chair of the Pat Lewellyn Bursary committee, hosted the launch of the Pat Lewellyn Bursary fund at the River Cafe in Hammersmith.

The fund will give £10,000 bursaries to four  women to enable them to develop TV proposals suitable for broadcast by a terrestrial broadcaster. The fund is supported by the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and the Welsh Government.

The event started with an introductory  welcome speech from Liz, followed by a panel discussion chaired by Martha Kearney. Panel members were Jane Root, Nicola Moody and Elaine Bedell.

A champagne and food followed. The champagne was very kindly provided by Ben Adler, Pat's husband, and the food by the River Cafe.

Guests in attendance included the Director General of the BBC Lord Hall, Mary Portas and Jamie Oliver.

Applications for the bursaries open shortly.
