WFTV to launch new mentoring schemes - 14 September 2020

Following the success of the WFTV  mentoring scheme and the first year of its Northern Ireland mentoring scheme, Chair and Acting CEO, Liz Tucker announced  today that WFTV is launching new mentoring schemes in Wales and Scotland, These will be open to mid-career women with more than five years' experience in the film and TV industry.

Liz said:  "the WFTV mentoring schemes are programmes that change and transform women’s lives and careers. There are no schemes like these anywhere else in the industry that combine both peer-to-peer training and mentoring from industry leaders to help women, whatever their backgrounds or ethnicity, to develop their careers to their full potential. And I would like to say a huge thanks to Netflix who through their sponsorship have made these schemes possible".

Applications for the new schemes will open at the end of September and WFTV will recruit two new mentoring producer to run the schemes.

Tracy Forsyth, currently responsible for running the England scheme, has been promoted to  Director of Mentoring and will now be responsible for supervising the four WFTV schemes. 

Previous WFTV mentees include:
Christian Ebohon-Green who became a director on the TV series Call the Midwife; Georgia Brown became Director of Original TV for Europe at Amazon; and Mercy Liao became the Manager of Productions and Acquisitions at Universal Pictures International Productions in Beijing.
